TALK & LISTEN

Huddersfield

Hi,

My name is Chris and I am the Captain of Talk Club Huddersfield.

I wanted to become a captain because I’m motivated to support others the same way I’ve been supported in recent years. I strongly believe in peer-to-peer talking groups and their value in improving mental health through open conversation and listening. Challenges in my life led me to dark places but therapy and talking groups helped me overcome them and become a happier person. I wish I’d known about them when I was younger.

** Important info: This is a members only venue however there’s no expectation from the team for attendees to become members. I will do my best to meet everyone at the entrance and take them to the committee room. If I’m not there, attendees should ring the buzzer and a staff member will let them in – staff will be aware of the meeting and let them in. They can say they’re “here for the 7pm meeting” or “here for Chris” or “here for Talk Club”. Attendees can get a pint/drink to take upstairs if they wish. **
