Hi, We are Tom and Dario and we are the Captains of Talk Club Rode

Tom
I first came across Talk Club when I met Ben Acres at a screening of his documentary Steve in Bruton during Mental Health Week. The film was powerful, and combined with the simplicity of the Talk Club model, I felt compelled to get involved.
For me, being a Captain is about service—holding a safe, structured space where men can check in, share openly, and be listened to without judgement. Too many men carry things in silence, without opportunities to simply be heard. Talk Club changes that. Its brilliantly simple system encourages honesty, connection, and reflection, creating a sense of belonging that many of us are missing.
I’m proud to play a part in supporting that process and helping men support each other.

Dario

Talking is one of life’s simplest yet most overlooked tools. I’ve learned that giving voice to my thoughts helps me see their meaning more clearly.

Listening to others share their experiences can be just as powerful. It reminds us that we’re not alone in how we feel and helps us understand, accept, and adjust the way we see the world.

In the groups I’ve joined, I’ve discovered how transformative this can be. Speaking things aloud brings a sense of accountability because it nudges us toward improving the parts of our lives we want to change. It’s not scary or complicated; it’s just unfamiliar. But with a little practice, we can change that together.
