I’m a husband, father & grandfather – proud of all three aspects, the culmination of which makes me who I am. Proud too of having been a foster carer, a blood donor, a trustee of Send & You and a governor at a school catering for children with profound learning difficulties. I ran my own business, successfully, for 23 years, now sold on and I’ve retired into a different world. None of this was without hurdles, difficulties and a strain on my mental health. I spent some years receiving 1-1 therapy which helped me enormously. TalkClub was suggested to me as a great place to continue my journey with other men on a similar pathway. From attendee to Co-Captain and then Captain, it’s a privilege to support other men as they navigate a bumpy path that is normal with dealing with mental health/fitness. That said, I’m also well supported by the other attendees, my Co-Captain and, of course, all the folk at TC HQ.
I love watching rugby at Ashton Gate, being a season ticket holder for many years, it’s a different form of therapy, but still being with like-minded folk. It’s also my 2nd home, as Ashton Gate Stadium is where I Co-Captain TalkClub Sessions with Jason.
